Table massage offers many different benefits.  A few are listed below:

We offer three different time durations for Table Massage. 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 90 minutes.

During a typical massage session, you will start either face-up or face-down (depending on the focus of the treatment) under a sheet.

The massage strokes begin with light to moderate pressure to warm up the tissue. As the tissue warms and loosens, the strokes become deeper to allow for breaking up of congealed fascia and to relax the muscle of any involuntary contraction. If the face and/or scalp are receiving work, these areas are worked without any lotion or oil on the hands. On the remainder of the body, lotion, creme or oil is used.

The products that we use are high quality and will not leave you feeling greasy. Some products may contain a light fragrance which is used for their healing properties.

Each session concludes with gentle compression strokes to reconnect the body and brushing strokes to gently help return you to a more present state.

Swedish Massage

One of the most well-known massage techniques, Swedish massage is a vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation.

Five basic strokes are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. Therapists use a combination of kneading, rolling, vibration, percussive and tapping movements, with the application of oil, to reduce friction on the skin.

Some of the many benefits of Swedish massage include general relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions and improved circulation, which may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury.

Reiki The Reiki Practitioner lays their hands over certain areas of the body to allow the Universal healing energy to enter the body and to create balance. Sometimes the hands are directly on your body, sometimes they are close, but not quite in contact with your body.

Reiki is performed while the client is fully clothed.

When the body is in balance, the organs, hormones, nerves & all body functions can operate according to their purpose, and the body will heal. Reiki cannot cause any harm. It works for your highest good.

Swedish / Deep Tissue Massage

This deep form of bodywork helps to release myofascial restrictions in the body. It relieves chronic tension, increases range of motion, and improves posture and enhances self-awareness.

Connective tissue massage restores length and flexibility to the fascia, normalizing the tissue and bringing greater health through the fascial system.

Warm Stones Massage

Warm stones of all shapes and sizes are used during Warm Stone massage therapy to elicit physical healing, mental relaxation and a spiritual connection to earth energy. Warm stones encourage the exchange of blood and lymph and provide soothing heat for deep-tissue work. Stones are placed in varying positions on the body for energy balancing or may be used by the therapist for specific trigger-point work.

Draping Technique / Dress Options

First and foremost, it is important to me that you feel comfortable and safe during the session. By giving me permission to touch you, you are inviting me into your personal space and into your energy field.

You have several options for clothing during the massage. Since it is more beneficial for you to receive bodywork directly on the skin to help release the muscles and fascia, less clothing is generally better.

Many clients are comfortable wearing no clothing at all, however some clients prefer to leave on their underwear or bra during the session.

During each session you are covered by a sheet except for any body parts that are being worked. The genitals and breast tissue in female clients are always draped. Maryland law prohibits these areas to be exposed.

Thirty Minute Session In a 30 minute massage session one area of the body is focused upon using either Swedish Techniques or using Deep Tissue Techniques.

This may include, but is not limited to the neck, shoulders & back; the legs and feet; the chest, shoulders, upper back and arms. These are only a few general areas. Each session is customized to your personal goals and needs.

Sixty Minute Session In a 60 minute Swedish massage session, most (if not all) areas of the body are worked on. These areas include:
The Face & Scalp
The Neck & Shoulders
The Chest (Pectoral muscles)
The Arms & Hands
The Abdomen
The Front & Back of the Thighs & Legs
The Gluteal Muscles
The Feet
The Full Back

In a 60 minute Deep Tissue massage session, a few of these areas are worked on.  Depending on your particular needs and wants, more or less of the body can be massaged.

Each session is customized to your needs and comfort level. More focus can be spent on one area of the body but due to time constraints, one or two areas may be skipped or the work shortened to fulfill that request. If a client prefers that any area be skipped, the work will be adjusted accordingly.

TopL

Ninety Minute Session In a 90 minute massage session, all areas of the body will be worked on and one or two of the areas will receive additional focus in the remaining 30 minutes. Some examples may include the shoulders, neck and back; the feet and legs; the chest and arms.
