When are your Columbia classes offered?
Our classes are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Yoga Center of Columbia. They are:
Level 1/2 - Monday at 6:15 pm
Level 2 - Wednesday at 6:15 pm
Level 1/2 is for people who have had some previous yoga experience and are looking to deepen their practice. The beginner poses taught in Level 1 are refined while additional poses are added including balancings and some introductions to inversions.
Level 2 is for people with more previous yoga experience looking to deepen their practice and add a bit more challenge. The beginner and intermediate poses taught in Level 1 and Level 1/2 are refined while additional poses including introduction to new inversions are added.
**Whether you take a beginner or intermediate class, each student is working at his or her own level and is not forced to do anything that may harm him or her. Detailed instruction and explanation is given on each pose as it is introduced and questions are always welcomed. Yoga is a personal practice even when practiced in a group setting.
What type of yoga do you offer?
Currently, our classes are all Hatha based. Using a blend of Iyengar, Anusara and Flow styles, each class has a specific focus (ex. Chest Opening poses, Hip Opening poses, Arm Strengthening poses, Restorative poses)
What kind of training do your instructors have?
Our instructors are all trained from a qualified center through the Yoga Alliance and have achieved at least a 200 hour instructor status.
